The 2007 conference is the first to be held outside the UK. The aims of this conference are to inform a wider audience of the potential and opportunities of FIRMS and to present the latest developments in application of FIRMS technology to criminal or environmental cases. FIRMS to date has almost exclusively worked with light isotope systems, a significant development at this conference is the linking with practitioners in the heavy isotope field.
