WHO: Air Quality Guidelines - Platinum
Description
Guidelines In occupational settings, sensitization reactions have been observed for soluble platinum down to the limit of detection of 0.05 µg/m 3. However, these effects have only occurred in individuals previously sensitized by higher exposure levels. It is unlikely that the general population exposed to ambient concentrations of soluble platinum, which are at least three orders of magnitude lower, will develop similar effects. At present no specific guideline value is recommended but further studies are required, in particular on the speciation of platinum in the environment.
