Slovenia: Group for Biological and Geochemical Cycles at the Jozef DStefan Institute, Ljubljana
The group for Biological and geochemical cycles is divided on two groups: Group for Biological and geochemical cycles and Group for Isotope Geochemistry.
Areas of research:
- contamination of potable water with nitrates; modelling of geochemical processes; laboratory simulations
- stable isotopes (C, N, O, S) in studies of biogeochemical cycling of some organic compounds (e.g. biomarkers)
- isotopic and geochemical anomalies as indicators of past catastrophic events.
- cycling and speciation of mercury) in environmental systems
- modelling of mercury in marine and terrestrial environments
- biomonitoring of organometals
- characterization of Reference Materials.
