The 25th International Symposium on Chromatography will take place in Palais des Congrès of Paris, France - from 4 to 8th October 2004.

This symposium is the largest and most prestigious meeting providing the most comprehensive coverage of chromatography and associated techniques such as capillary electrophoresis or recent totally integrated micro-analytical systems.
The series was launched in London, UK in 1956 and is held every two years in Europe.

The meeting is run by AFSep - Association Francophone des Sciences Séparatives (France), The Chromatographic Society (UK), and Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker, Fachgruppe Analytische Chemie, Arbeitskreiss Separation Science (Germany). The latest series were held in Rome in 1998, in London in 2000 and in Leipzig in 2002.

The importance of separation science is growing in our modern society. Almost all scientific, social, cultural or socio-economic fields rely on a wide range of chemical analyses that require separation, identification and quantification of chemical, biochemical or biological compounds in various media or matrixes. The societal trend is reinforced under the pressure from fields of health, food security, environment and regulatory controls. There is an important demand for more rapid, cost-effective, high throughput analyses, with smaller quantities of complex samples, and often ultra-trace analyses in very complex matrixes. Another challenge is the capability for identification of a huge number of analyses in a single run.

For the first time, the ISC series is also held under the auspices of the European Society for Separation Sciences (EuSSS)
Which was recently created during the last meeting ISC in Leipzig.
The EuSSS sponsors the Young Scientist Session and will offer 2 prizes of 1000 euros.

ISC’04 will provide you with the answers to these issues. Separation science is an exciting and fast changing area. ISC’04 will be the ideal place to introduce and evaluate new, innovative and imaginative research, technologies and products.

In 2004, come to Paris and save valuable time and money by getting a full overview of the latest developments and future trends in separation science and associated disciplines with papers and posters describing the "cutting edge" research, and an exhibition of new scientific instrumentation, equipment and products.

Enjoy the contrasts of Paris with its museum, monuments, lively bustling boulevards and well-known shops together with the charm of its medieval districts and old quarters.
