Isotope-dilution analysis is a kind of quantitative analysis based on the measurement of the isotopic abundance of a nuclide after isotope dilution by mixing with one or more of its isotopes with the test portion. In this way quantitative determinations can be performed by simply measuring isotope ratioes rather than absolute concentrations reducing the impact of non-quantitative analytical processes such as analyte extraction and separation or matrix interferences.
