The establishment of EVISA is funded by the EU through
the Fifth Framework Programme (G7RT- CT- 2002- 05112).
Supporters of EVISA includes:
a concentration of a substance that produces death in 50%
of a population of experimental animals after exposure for a period of
time which is usually specified (e.g. '96 hour LC50'). This term is
used when the substance exists in the organism's ambient environment at
the specified concentration (for example, fish in water in which the
substance is present at the specified concentration).
