After the fourteenth SIMEC (June 2003, Capri, Italy), SIMEC 2004 will focus on most of the fundamental and applied aspects of interest on thermodynamics and equilibria of metal complexes and closely related topics as traditionally. New topics related to metal speciation, particularly the characterization of metals bound to biomolecules and the interaction of these elements with proteins (metallomics), will also be treated. Environmental, food and biological matrices will be especially considered. In addition, different aspects related to the development and application of instrumental couplings and sample preparation techniques will be covered.
