PITTCON is not the same old show that moves from city to city each year.  There is always something new at PITTCON.  Here are some of the new things you will see at PITTCON 2004:
  • New exhibitors – Because we are changing location, exhibitors that are local to the area we exhibit in come and go.  Also other exhibitors only exhibit or expand or contract their displays depending on whether we are located in their target geographical region.  Each year we have an area in our exhibit hall dedicated to new exhibitors. Because of the key role the Chicago area plays in the pharmaceutical and food sciences, we expect a large number of new exhibitors offering products and services to these markets.
  • New Products – PITTCON has traditionally been the venue where new laboratory products and equipment are introduced.  News conferences heralding those new products are conducted and vendors usually provide additional information about applications within the general technical sessions and special seminars they conduct on their own.
  • The latest technical advances – More than 370 of the most recognized scientists in their field will present their latest findings in over 70 symposia that are specifically solicited and arranged to make sure they address the hottest topics in laboratory analysis.
  • While maintaining our awareness of the importance of life sciences and health-related topics, we will increase our focus on analyses related to the fields of nanotechnology and forensics.
  • Life Science Neighborhood – For 2004, we will dedicate a special section of the exhibits to companies supplying instruments, supplies and services to the life sciences sector.  This area will make these companies, who usually have smaller booths, easier to locate.  Of course our easier-to-find larger exhibitors in the life sciences will be located throughout the floor.
  • Plenary Lecture -- Dr. Larry Faulkner, President of the University of Texas, will present a Plenary Lecture, “Good Chemical Measurements and Good Public Policies”, to open the Program on Sunday, Mach 7, 2004.
  • Special Lectures -- Dr. Koichi Tanaka and Professor Kurt Whthrich, 2002 Nobel Laureates, will present separate Special Lectures describing their work at the 2004 Pittsburgh Conference on Monday, March 8, 2004.
