The symposium is the premier global event for the biological monitoring community, enabling dissemination of knowledge and strengthening of networks. Previous symposia, which are held every two to three years, have been held in Japan, Italy, Finland, Korea, lowryCanada, Germany and China, with the last being in Finland in 2010.

The programme will be a mixture of invited Keynote lectures, standard and short oral presentations, poster presentations and discussion sessions. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues and fellow professionals.
Topics will include:

  • biomarkers of effect and susceptibility
  • new analytical techniques
  • case studies of occupational and environmental exposures
There will also be discussion on the roles of biological monitoring including:
  • development of policies and guidance
