Current research interests are particularly in the field of ultra-trace elements and of speciation of the chemical forms of trace elements in environmental and clinical samples. The separation techniques used for speciation analysis cover various forms of liquid and gas chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, 1 D and 2 D gel-electrophoresis. ICP-MS (including HR-ICP-MS, DRC-ICP-MS and LA-ICP-MS), GF-AAS and AFS are used as elemental detection techniques. Radiotracers are utilized for method development when applicable. The molecular structure of the biomolecules carrying the trace element is studied with ES-MS-MS.
