Professor Craig was Head of the Department of Chemistry and maintains research interest in analytical, inorganic and organometallic chemistry. In particular the role of organometallic compounds including formation in the environment, detection, analysis and industrial applications. Professor Craig is a member of EEC and Government committees on organometallics in the environment and editor of a primary research journal: Applied Organometallic Chemistr'. He is also author of two books on environmental research; a third (Organometallic Compounds in the Environment) is to be published by John Wiley in 2002. Prof Craig is a member of the Standing Committee of the UK Heads of Chemistry Departments.
