Description
Acta Physica Hungarica has been originally started with Vol. 1 in 1951 under the editorship of Pál Gombás, later István Kovács, and these series have been ended with Vol. 75 in 1994.

Acta Physica Hungarica has been renewed in 1995 as a New Series, starting with Vol. 1, with the subject of the Heavy Ion Physics, by István Lovas, the Editor in Chief.

Starting 2003, Tamás S. Biró has been to appointed as Editor in Chief.

In 2004, the former New Series have ceased and two series of volumes have been launched with consecutive volume numbers:

  • Series A – Heavy Ion Physics
  • Series B – Quantum Electronics

Acta Physica Hungarica is a refereed journal.
